    Excellent bird book for Panama! I purchased this for a tour and was pleasantly surprised to find the tour guide (a local Panamanian) had the same book! He said the colors in this book are better than any other book. It's organized like a Sibley guide, so the birds were easy to find. I really enjoyed having this book for my week in Panama!   The principle guide for the country has long been Robert S. Ridgely and John A. Gwynne Jr.’s A Guide To the Birds of Panama, with Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras (Princeton University Press). Now in its second edition, this massive tome provides extensive information on just about everything that the bird watcher visiting Panama would.
